Summer Temporary Position as an Administrator at the Police Authority

The position is a summer temporary position with a chance of extension and the possibility to work on an hourly basis as needed after the temporary position ends. Hourly employment may also be relevant before the temporary position.
You will primarily be based in Piteå. Other locations may temporarily become relevant for service with Piteå as the starting point.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The employees within the Police Authority's service office are the face of the organization and often the first contact for the public - an important point of contact. The operation is both an authority exercise and a service function with availability for both external and internal service. Serving as an administrator within the Police's service office is a significant job in strengthening trust in police operations through engagement, quality, and security in handling cases combined with efficiency and a pleasant demeanor.
As an administrator within the Police's service office, you will have an important role within the framework of the Police's service mission.
Main job responsibilities:
- Process both applications and the release of passports and national ID cards
- Receive and register reports from the public
- Handle lost property
- Receive permits, submit weapons, contest parking fines, request public documents, and extracts from the criminal record
- Communicate with internal and external actors, both through physical meetings and various communication channels, such as email, phone, and social media
- Additional tasks may occur as the inflow of cases varies greatly.
A prerequisite for you to start working as an administrator in the reception is that you are approved and certified in the mandatory internal training that begins in the first two weeks. The training may take place at another location or digitally with a preliminary start in weeks 20 - 23.
The working hours in the reception are primarily scheduled during daytime, but evening work and weekend work may occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed upper secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
- Work experience in service and administration similar to reception work with many external direct contacts in the form of personal meetings
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Driver's license B
- Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
It is meritorious if you:
- Have recent work experience in service with many external direct contacts in the form of personal meetings that the employer assesses as relevant.
- Have experience working within the police, another authority, or public administration that the employer assesses as relevant for the position.
- Have knowledge/skills regarding police data systems such as RES, lost property, RAR, PÄR, and Durtvå.
- Have experience handling legal documents.
- Master additional languages that the employer assesses as relevant beyond Swedish and English where you can use the language in your professional practice.
- Are a police student.

Employment: Temporary employment between June and August or as agreed. There may be opportunities for extension on an hourly basis.
Work location: Piteå
Working hours: Weekdays 8-16.30, evening and weekend work may occur.
Start date: As agreed.

If you are selected for employment, you do not have the right to vacation leave. Instead, you will receive vacation compensation paid after the employment ends. Shorter leave with salary deduction may be granted if the operation allows it and then by agreement with the manager.
